Ryan turned 8!!!!!

This birthday was a big birthday for Ryan around here. In our house when you turn eight it is a very big deal. You get to make a decision, your first big one. You get to get baptised and become a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. Though in Ryan's case things are a little different. He is not going to be babtised, he doesnt need to be.  I have known since he was very little that he would not be making this decision here. I have been preparing myself for this. I know logically this is the best decsion. It makes me very happy and sad at the same time. I was trusted with this special spirit to take care of till he can go home to our heavenly father. He came in a special body with his own special challenges. He knew he was going to come to this earth this way and was up for the challenge. Some days he is up for them more than his mother. I love Ryan with all my heart. I am very grateful to have his spirit here to teach me. It is hard sometimes to remember that this has got to be so much harder for him then me. He is the one who can't let us know all the things he is thinking. Though at the same time he enriches everyone he comes in contact with. I am told all the time how you can just see his sweet spirit through his eyes. He has the most expressive eyes I have ever seen. I know without a doubt he is one of gods special children and he knows way more than me. I just need to remember he can teach me as much as I can teach him. I LOVE YOU RYAN HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

We threw Ryan a big birthday party. We have friends with an indoor pool and they were very nice to let us use it. We invited his whole primary class and there familys. We had a good 20 kids and almost as many adults. It was so much fun. Ryan loves to be in the water. His school lent us a life vest that keeps him a float. I think I really need to get one of these. It was awesome. It does look a little funny on him but it keeps his face out of the water and I don't have to hold on at all!!! We had so much fun with all our friends. They made him feel special. Thanks so much everyone!!!! We love having you guys as our friends.
